Method improvement for Diesel Range Organics

Hi

I would like to know. Which other way can one use to improve the sample preparation method for DROs. I am currently using the SPE method which is good but introduces a lot of contaminants into my sample due to some unnecessary oils being eluted with the sample itself. That in turn causes constant contamination on the ion source and interfering with the sensitivity on the other methods.

Thanks in advance :)
What are these "uneccessary oils" - if they elute in the diesel range surely they must be DROs and should be included in the quantitation ?
