We have in our lab a Varian 3900 GC. We bought from Agilent EZChtom software that was suppose to be able to control our GC. The GC need an IP address to be able to communicate with the software. Does anyone know how to assign an IP address with EZChrom? Does anyone know if there is other software that are able to control Varian 3900 GC?

Thanks!

Claude

You've bought EZchrom from Agilent to run a 3900 GC and it does not work. You are asking a website for help  Have you called Agilent ? Did the engineer not install it and get it running?
How do Agilent get away with this? When I sold kit customers made us jump through every hoop and this included getting it working with their kit :?
EZchrom should work with most GCs , Varian Star and later software works, Bruker software, and several third party systems. You do need the IP address of the GC, the manual will tell you how to access it on the GC and you add to the software.

I have to agree with CEI.

There do seem to be a lot of cries for help from people who have bought new kit, and cannot get it to work, sometimes within weeks of the purchase.

People, it is the supplier's job to get new kit up and running, and to keep it like that for as long as the warranty is valid. If you get the run around from your local agents, escalate to head office.
