MassHunter not storing data

Discussions about GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-FTIR, and other "coupled" analytical techniques.

We recently acquired a refurbished Agilent 6210 system, which came with a PC with MassHunter A.02.02 and Analyst QS 1.1. I hooked up an 1100 system to it and did some runs. In the real time plot in MassHunter, I can see the TIC and individual scans during the course of the run.

However, when the run is stopped, either manually or by the run time set in the method, the resulting .wiff datafile cannot be opened by Analyst. If I look at the size of the .wiff file, it is only a few 100k, while some sample files on the system are all at least 50 times larger, and they can be opened.

So I'm guessing the data is somehow not stored in the wiff file.

When the run is going, the LC panes on the screen all have a blue bar (like in ChemStation when a run is going), but the TOF pane has a magenta bar, which I think it means it is waiting for something. But it is scanning and sending data to the PC as I mentioned above.

I went through all the settings (I think) but I have not been able to find anything that could be related to this.

Anyone have an idea what may be causing this, and what I need to do to be able to save the data and analyze them?
Turns out a remote cable was missing between the LC and MS. We got both units separately and neither came with that cable :)
Hi
I'll be glad if you provide me tunung data from your instrument.
