Hello dissolutioners,

My analytical laboratory currently utilizes sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) for dissolution/HPLC analysis, and is looking into the use of SDS pellets vs SDS powder, mainly for the pellet's ease of use. Does anyone know if there are differences between the two forms? I'm thinking in terms of solubility, purity, and any other factors that might affect dissolution/HPLC analysis. I appreciate any input provided.

As long as the purity is the same I don't see any issue. It may take longer to dissolve though. I prefer premade SDS solution

I would not be so sure. SDS is always a problem. The variations between the SDS in different manufacturers could be pretty big. The are even differences between batches in the same manufacturer.
If you validate your method with one SDS from one manufacture in one form I would stick with it.
