Hi all,

We have latest chemstation with Open lab. I have a 6890 that is what seems like randomly changing the front column parameters. The actual column length is 30m but it will change to 15m on the panel. The method has 30m specified. I have to manually update the column length to 30m from the panel through the config button. I sometimes see the error "method changed by new user" when I am logged in as Admin. We had to disconnect the GC from the network to do some maintenance on it recently. It had to go into the shop for repair, I am wondering if a communication setting was changed during maintenance performing qc checks on it with their computer/chemstation or from the panel. Any thoughts or experience with this issue is appreciated.

Thanks,
Do you have the column dimensions and such entered in and configured in the Chemstation software (the farthest tab to the right ?) and under "Columns" (like the middle tab?) ?

And then the parameters saved as Master Method?
CPG,

Yes the columns were entered properly in that table. I found the cause behind this was in the "options" panel on the GC under calibrations there was a column length calculation made from 3 years ago. So it had a calculated length of 15m, but we have no 15 m columns in the lab. I am wondering if maybe during the maintenance work somehow that calibration got entered? Not sure but I changed the mode to uncalibrated and now it accepts the 30m length properly.

Thanks for the help.
