Acquired a 3800 with a Saturn 2000 but need some assistance

Hello All,

I have an R&D lab and I recently acquired a 3800 and Saturn 2000 to acquire rough mass spec data from unknowns. I have a GC-AED (agilent) and a QTOF (waters). I have a standard solution I use to test equipment (GC-AED CIC). It is an iso-octane solvent with 10 standards. The molecular weights are 100 to 250.

I finally got the Saturn baked out and it passes daily check. I am very new to Varian and I am accustomed to Chemstation and Waters. The Saturn is reporting only the high molecular weight compounds. I never identifies any of them correctly. I've read through the manuals and I'm trying to find some acceptable operating data (ie: split should be adjusted to have sample between X counts and X counts (Like 25k?).

The first problem I have is the low molecular weight compounds do not have any peeks. I get the last 5-6. I am operating the 3800 with the same method as the GC-AED. Any suggestions?
