LC-MS for pesticides in drinking and surface water

Dear all,

I'm looking at LC-MS for pesticides esp. MCPA, MCPP, 2,4-D, 2,4-DB and Chlorpyrifos in drinking and surface water. I've already looked at Dionex, Perkin Elmer and Agilent (expensive one)... and I do not have any idea. We have in the lab Dionex instrument for detection of anions and Perkin Elmer for THM's & VOC's and they are really good.

Any thought on these brands and others would be welcome and really appreciated.

Many thanks for all your help.

Julia

Hello

I'd consider 3 things:
1.Limit of detection for your methods - check which provider offers better equipment (detection system)
2.Workload/samples matrix - how often you'll have to service your equipment
3.Service - it is really important thing. Check what kind of service (quality of it and price) you can expect for your instrument.

Good luck :)

We have used an ABSciex API3200 for these compounds in the past. They no longer make this model but you may want to look into used equipment such as this.
