Chiral Separation of phenethylamines

Hi All,

I have been researching a LC method for the chiral separation of phenethylamine compounds, more specifically methylamphetamine. However, I am really struggling to find a LC solution that provides as good results as just derivatizing on a GC-MS.

Preferentially looking to not have to derivatize (or if so, very simple) and run on a Waters HPLC (LC) system. Is there anyone out there that might be using HPLC to separate amphetamines currently (baseline separation)? Does such a method exist? haha

I have read quite a few published articles and not coming up with any methods that might be appropriate besides a method that utilizes the Chiral Drug (Shiseido®) column, which is just a very expensive column to purchase.

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

Have you explored derivatized cyclofructan columns? Isopropyl modified cyclofructan is quite successful in separating many chiral amines.
