Thermo Fisher DSQ II gc/ms Source overheats

I have a DSQ II for which the source is overheating e.g. setpoint is 225, source will heat to 290 and not look like stopping. Thermo have not seen this problem before and suggest buying a new source heater PCB. However, at 1400 pounds, I am loath to do this unless I am certain that is the problem. The thermocouple and heaters all seem physically OK, and I suppose they are working as they are heating the source and measuring the temperature. Isn't the problem in whatever should be turning of the supply voltage to the heater PCB?

Anyone seen anything like this?
thanks,

Simon

I faulty Source PCB is a possibility.. They account for a lot of strange source behaviour.. But as you have a temp. readback and it seems it does not react to the the readback my main concern would be a Analog PCB.. But these will set you back way more than the Source PCB..

I think you are going to end up forking out some dough to get this system running again.. :(
