Hello,
i want to run a TSP UV1000 Detector with Xcalibur 2.0SR2.
Unfortunately I can only select SN4000, UV2000 and UV6000 in Instrument configuration. PC is connected to SN4000 (RS232) and TSP-UV1000 is connected to the SN4000.
Is there a suitable driver package available to add UV-1000 to Xcalibur ?
Is it possible to connect the UV1000 directly to PC not using SN4000 ?
Is there any other (old, used, cheap) software available to run this
device combination for testing and learning only ?

thanks wally
Dragging back into my past I seem to remember that the UV1000 is not controlable from a PC at all. You need to connect it to an A/d your SN4000 and set the wavelength manually
Tnanks for reply.
Yes, I also assume the SN4000 has to be between the PC and the UV1000.
Anyway, the SN4000 also needs to communicate with the UV1000.
My question was meant, that it might be interesting to figure out which protocol
is used there. I guess its also some kind of RS232.

Unfortunately I can not drive my devices as long as I do not find a driver for UV1000.
I even do not know a driver exists.
or ....
mayeb an Eprom/Firmware upgrade from 3.09 to 3.13 makes an UV1000 to an UV2000.
Isn't the SN4000 just an a/d converter? There is no way to control a UV1000 it was made for entry level LC systems with just basic integrator or PC data system. There is no digital out and no communication port to interface to ?
I do not think the SN4000 is a A/D converter. I guess it only distribute
commands from PC to Pumps, AS and detectors and also collect signals from this devices and sends them to PC via RS232.
As far as I know the SN4000 in between PC and UV1000 is the only way to
drive it from a CDS as Xcalibur.
Which did you use ? ( I know, long time ago :)
I joined Thermo in 96 when they bought Fisons. I just remember them telling us that the UV1000 had no control option and that you had to specify UV2000 if you wanted to control it via PC. We were talking pre Windows ! The data system in question ran OS/2
UV1000 had no control option
maybe here comes the SN4000 in, to make the UV1000 accessible (?)
I expect the ADCs on the analog pcb of the UV1000 board, but not yet sure.
Do you remember the application name which ran under OS/2 ?
PC1000,
