Splitless Carry-Over

Hi All,
When I do splitless injections I use an empty liner which is recommended and recoveries are better than when wool is used.
However I get sample carryover (probably) from sample residue on the bottom of the septa.
I only use 0.2ul hexane at the moment which will not overload the liner.
How can I get around this?
Perhaps I can use a little wool just above the point of sample ejection.

Your sample vapor should not contact the septa if the septum purge is "ON" and set properly. What is the compound? Is your injection port temperature high enough? Could the compound be sticking to the syringe needle?
