Chemstation B.04.03 on 64-bit Windows 7 computer

Hello, I have version B.04.03 for Chemstation running on a 32-bit Windows 7 computer. I was curious, has anybody tried installing Chemstation on a 64-bit computer? I know the B.04.03 version says it only supports the 32-bit variety of Windows 7 but doesn't the 64-bit version just create a separate folder to store the older 32-bit files? The reason I want 64-bit is because our computers have 4 GB of memory but only 3.2 GB is usable (a 32-bit limitation). Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Pacerlaser,
I can't help you directly, but an alternate approach (perhaps inefficient) might be to use a VM.
Does the 0.8GB hurt you? I suspect that if you are only using the PC for chemstation, you don't need the extra RAM (even though it is annoying to let it go 'to waste').
If you do try to install on a x64 OS, do let us know if it works or not.

Regards,

I have working win7 64-bit with B.04.03 SP2.

B.04 w/o servicepack would now work on 64-bit windows 7.
EXE file headers would prevent you running license manager (.NET compatibility LOL).
Some of the CIL exe files call native code but headers prevent calling 64bit binaries and DLLs.

It can be cured by patching all exe file headers using utility from MS SDK 7.0 or higher.
for %%A in (C:\Chem32\CORE\*) do ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Bin\x64\CorFlags.exe" %%A /32BIT+)

Other analyst-friendly way - is to get at least B.04.03 SP1.
