Dear all,
As I am setting up a new method for my gas analysis using TotalChrom software, setting the Process, components, report format, Data channels parameters… but could not set the Instrument Control – for Oven/Inlets, Detectors, and Instrument Timed parameters. I have also tried Method Editor/Instrument but the options are not given (locked).

For your information, I am using GC8340 CE (Carlo Erba) with NELSON PE 950/970a interface. The connections are PC-Interface and GC-Interface (A/D and remote connections). I am using manual injection for now (no auto sampler).

Two questions:

1- How can I activate or making a setting of the instrument control options from the software? Is it possible?
2- I can start running samples from GC operation unit but not from the TotalChrom Software, How can I manage to run my GC from TC software?

Thanks a lot :D
I know Perkin Elmer provides IPM's (Interface Personality Module). They are drivers for specific types of hardware being used in TotalChrom. Do you know if there was one installed on your TotalChrom system for this instrument? If not I am not sure if they have one made for your GC. You may also need something extra to interface with the GC other then a 950/970a A/D converter. Best would be to contact Perkin Elmer and ask.
Many thanks scottythree
Solved. If anyone needed help with same system, I am happy to help.

Thanks all
