Hi all,

Now I'm using Varian 3400 GC model for my experiment. But an old laptop which has the software program was broken. However, I don't have any installation CD or file. I contacted Agilent technology which merged Varian company, but I couldn't get the program. Did anyone have similar situation with me? If yes, please share the route for getting the program. The version is 6.4.

Bruker own the rights to the varian GC's. Agilent got their ICP division but not their GC division. Try contacting Bruker

Posting here was a good idea, someone may be able to help with the Star software. Whilst Bruker got the GC stuff, they could not make money from it and have now sold on the GC and single quad GC/MS. Support for the old Varian GCs and Star software is unlikely to be found within the manufacturers it's far too old. Search your local independents there will be people in most countries who know the kit and are now third party support. Post your country and others will be able to recommend

Thanks for advice. Actually, one guy from this web site gave me the file without serial number and a Bruker staff told me that he will check if he has old serial number. I hope he has it, but if anyone is willing to share the number, I really appreciate it.
