Elevated baseline for one analyte

Why am I getting an elevated baseline for one of my analytes (histidine) but not others during chiral separation using a basic mobile phase gradient (10mM ammonium bicarbonate with acetonitrile) on the Xevo TQS in +ESI mode? As a result D-histidine which is present at very low concentrations in biofluids is very hard to distinguish from the baseline and therefore quantify.
