PFP or Cyano

Hello guys!

I'm trying to separate compounds from the reaction of acetylation of glycerol, triacetin, diacetin and monoacetin. I'm going to buy a new column for my HPLC and I don't know if I should get a PFP (Pentafluorophenyl) or a Cyano. I talked to one of my teachers and she thinks that glycerol might get stuck in the PFP, so she thinks that the cyano might be a better choice. But I think that the PFP will give me a better separation. What do you guys think?

Thanks!

In my opinon PFP columns are rather used for separation of aromatic and halogenated compounds. You compounds are neither aromatic nor halogenated.
For polar compounds the Cyano and amino columns are suggested. I probably would try a HILIC separation, but this is you choise.

PFP is used for compounds that have double bonds and/or can do hydrogen bonding, they are not only used for halogenated and aromatic compounds.
