Empower 3 installation woes

Hi all,

Graduate student in charge of the labs two HPLC/UPLC systems. The computer hooked up to our Waters H-class fried on us. I've been trying to install Empower 3 on a new workstation, but have been running into some frustrating blocks.

I've installed instrument drivers for the particular modules we have. I've also installed the empower software. However, when I try to initiate empower, I receive a "Empower base package has not been installed yet", and can go no further. I have serial keys for the software, but have never been prompted for entry. How can I install this base package?

Any backups for the fried PC?
Any chance of dropping a backup on a not-fried version of the same type of PC?
If not, you will probably have to get in touch w/ Waters and explain the situation and attempt to get them to take pity on your academic plight.

If you have a software support plan in effect, it will be very helpful! Know the number!
If not, I pity you as your prospects are not very good.
