Hi, all,

Now, i'm using a Agilent ICPMS 7700, and 7900 in our lab.
My questions are as follows;
Now our spray chamber is 2degC.
Agilent model can be available from -5degC to 20degC for spray chamber.

I got the highest sensitivity in -5degC using 50ppt sample(H2SO4 solution) compared to 2, 10, 20degC.

I wanna know why the lowest temperature(-5degC) showed highest sensitivity.
Is anybody know this mechanism to explain about data?

Best regards.
Li

Hi,

At lower temperatures you remove more water from the aerosol and less water gets into the plasma. This also reduces the formation of interfering oxides in the plasma and you get a more stable response over time.
