Windows 10 upgrade impact to Agilent EZChrom CDS

Guys, as most of you have experienced Microsoft included in their latest windows update a patch ( more nagware, if you ask me) for the Windows 7 to Windows 10 automatic migration, happening in July 27. I am using a stand alone laptop for a 490 Micro GC so it is unavoidable for me to download this patch. The CDS installed is an Agilent EZChrom Elite version 3.3.2. Has Agilent published any guidelines addressing any potential impact of this OS update? This scenario may be also relevant for other CDS software from ThermoScientific or Perkin Elmer.
Thanks for any info.

Hi, EZCHrom 3.3.2 SP2 runs on Windows 7 32 bit. It is not anticipated to run in Windows 10. Current version for EZChrom is OpenLAB EZChrom A.04.07.
I am not sure when/if we will support Windows 10 for A.04.07, but when i know it I will announce it here.
Windows 8.1 is supported for OpenLAB CDS EZChrom A.04.07.

??? The patch offers you the upgrade, you don't need to take it
No vendor will support Windows 10 from the day of issue and if you do not know how to return your system to Windows 7 in the event of an issue I suggest you do not take the upgrade. Many operators have sucessfully upgrade to a newer o/s without issues provided the drivers are still compatible etc. there is no reason that an upgrade to 10 should cause problems. It is a risk, if it works fine now why change ?

Thank you, and varossf for the feedback. The patch was included by Microsoft in their regular security Winows update cycle, which is really bad since it does not provide the end user to manually stop the patch from downloading. Opting out of the upgrade is the solution. I will stop the automatic Windows update for sure. Seeing that the EZChrom Elite version I am using is an old one, ca 2009. I guess I am stock with using Windows 7 for awhile.
