Hi All,

Just a quick question, How often do people see oligomers with RP-HPLC (low ph buffered) from biological sources? Just a thought after seeing some new data.

Best Wishes Col

In RP mode oligomers often elute in sort of flat hills rather than well-defined peaks, due to their insufficient solubility.
So they are not always detected as actual components.
Oftentimes they are too large to travel into the pores of the stationary phase support particles resulting in inadequate retention.
If actual determination of oligomers is a goal I would much rather prefer the SEC technique potentially aided by Light Scattering detection.
