Varian GC autosampler compatability?

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

Hello All,

I was just donated a 8400 Varian GC autosampler (AS) and was wondering if it is compatable with a Varian CP-3800 GC-FID or their GC-MS 2000 series (older than the autosampler).

We don't have these GC's or GC-MS but I know someone who does and they certainly could use this autosampler. I don't know for the life of me why anyone who purchase such instruments without an AS.

Does it need an additional mounting bracket as well? How are they connected? Like to know before I hand it over or I will just keep it with its original GC. Its a complicated transaction but the group who donated it gave it to someone who doesn't need the GC functionality. Thanks Timothy
Its compatible with any Varian 3800 GC and I assume the later Varian 450GC or the Bruker version. Not sure about the connections, but I don't imagine it is that difficult.
