So I have an HPLC problem, I have 2 210 pumps(A & B), a 800 MIB converter, and a 355 RI detector. The software I am using is galaxie configuration manager. My problem is that the software does not detect the 355 RI detector and only detects Pump A. Is it the way I am connecting the relay? The connection is as follows: PC->Converter->Pump A->Pump B.
Thanks!!
Are you using the right cable to connect everything...cross-over versus patch cable?. I just finished setting up a Varian 430GC with Galaxie software and had troubles getting communication. But did eventually succeed. Also, if you are using the proper cable, when you go into the configuration manager to select your instruments, can you select both pumps? I am not familiar with the LC setups so not sure what the drivers list.
Hello,

The 355 RI detector is not supported by Galaxie. I mean, there is no driver for this detector. Only the 356-LC RI detector is supported.
The only thing you can do, is getting the analog data using the MIB.
This way, to configure your system in the configuration manager, you need to select in the driver list the following items :
- Varian ProStar 210, 218, SD1 pumps
and
- Star 800 MIB Analog Input Signal

This driver will allow the system to acquire analog data from the 355 RI.
Do not forget to connect the analog cable from the RI to the MIB analog port (not relays !)
Your MIB box must be equiped with an analog channels board.
Please look at the installation guide to help you configuring your system, there are some examples.

Hopefully that will help you
