I am having trouble getting Empower 3 to give me a percent label claim calculation using named groups. Here is what I am trying to achieve:

Using named or timed groups I want to integrate 4 peaks as my main component peak and use this group to quantitate the same set of peaks for my samples. I am able to get this named group to quantitate and generate a curve, but it is not giving me my % label claim calculation.

The % label claim calc is a custom calc and is as follows: Amount/Percent label claim*100.

Empower is generating the amounts field for the samples and I do have a value entered in for percent label claim. To add to the mystery, we also have a custom field of dissolution release which is: Amount*dissolution volume and empower has no issue generating this custom field.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions as I have been trying to figure this out for a few days now.
1) make sure that every named anything is using the appropriate standard curve (ccal ref)
2) assign a claim value to the named group, just like you would to a single component.
Thanks,
DR

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I checked and all those fields are covered.

Could it be that for our custom % label claim calc. The peak type is "peak", but the named group has a peak type of "group"?

Maybe there is a better way to achieve what we are trying to do, so I am open to suggestions.

We are working with an SEC method and since purity of the API is unknown we want to assay the main peak and it's components as one peak and use that to get an assay on the samples. We still want to integrate all the peaks separately so that we can get a % area on those for use as a read on degradation.
My suspicion was correct. The field was set to "Founds Only". So changing this to "All" or "Founds and Groups" will generate the calc for us.
