I have a Agilent 5977E and I'm using the Extraction Ion source. I have always had trouble with the bfbautotune function passing. Its always something different, such as bas axis, algorithym, ion lens connection, calibrant level, ect. It will pass an Autotune every single time as well as the Etune(for extraction source). This has been the case since new. A service call when new brought the service person who replaced the multiplier and filaments (Wow!). After a short time it began failing again, so I cleaned the already clean source and still the problem persisted so I reluctantly took the source apart and reassembled and bang it began passing the bfbautotune again. Anyway again Im failing BFB autotune, you'ld think it wouldnt pass a BFB acquisition with this failed tune but it will.
I tried putting the Etune into my acquisition methods and I was amazed at the great baseline and sensitivity that it has, amazing performance. The problem is I cant pass a BFB acquisition with this tune, Its so close but the 50 mass is too low. Ive tried everything imagineable to get this 50 mass to increase in relation to the other masses with no luck. If I put the (failed) BFBatune in, it passes no problem but the sensitivety is nowhere near what I get with the Etune. The etune sets emv at 1035, 69 abund is always above 390000, airwater is .2%. Id prefer to use the etune for all my analysis but I cant figure out how to increase the 50 mass. Ive tried the wizard ratio but it seems to not "take", dynamic seems to bounce the masses around, it wont finish a tune with the 502 replaced with the 50, what the heck am I doing wrong?
Any comments or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks a ton for any and all input!!
