Dear all,
I would open a .dat chromatogram, acquired from a focus-gc thermo finnigan with chrom-card 2.3, in another program better if a freeware software.

We have a trace-gc system coupled with chrom-card. Chrom-card have a sentinel key protection system integrated in a serial comunication port. It can't allow to install the program in other pc. Our lab is quite busy and I would to post-process my chromatogram in other location freeing the pc connected to the gc for my colleagues.

For this reason I asking if someone know an alternative software to chrom-card, better if freeware. I have a lot of GC-FID (.dat) with many peaks to correct and integrate.

Thaks in advance,

I could try to have a look at the file format. OpenChrom is capable to read various MSD as well as FID vendor formats. Anyhow, Thermo Finnigan *.dat is not supported yet, but feel free to send me some test files. It would be great if you could also convert the files to e.g. ASCII text with the Thermo software. That makes it easier to create a suitable converter.
