What should we be looking for in a mass spec for steroids?

If someone brought you a sample of some Testosterone ethanate from a pharmacy in india, and asked you to determine what was in it besides the testosterone, would you be able to tell?

More important than the actual numbers is the statement that the lab and its methods are accredited for the analysis by their National Accreditation Service.
Anything done by a "friend at a university" without a standard is completely worthless.
Any competent lab should be able to identify impurities in pharmaceuticals.
When someone who uses your products gets sick or dies because your raw materials are not up to spec, who do you think the authorities will come looking for ?

I'll never be on the manufacturing side of this. I'm just a guy looking for a safe source of TRT drugs.
The online pharmacy's in Greece, India and China are a fraction of the price of the US.

I'll never be on the manufacturing side of this. I'm just a guy looking for a safe source of TRT drugs.
The online pharmacy's in Greece, India and China are a fraction of the price of the US.
You want safe drugs, and you are looking on the internet for cheap generics with dubious quality control. Good luck with that.

Some impurities would be seen on LCMS, some on GCMS and for any heavy metals you would need to use ICPMS. Not sure what impurities would be present, but you would need at least those capabilities to find the major ones.

Woah. I wonder if that would impress my auditors. "Yeah, I don't really do the full NELAC QC - but I inject myself with cheap untraceable drugs that I screened on my instruments - so you know I'm tryin' my best!"
