we have a Clarus 500 GC and would like to set it up for running free and total glycerin test based on ASTM D6584.
Anyone can provide detail info concerning calibration and instrument setup? We use RESTEK MXT-BIODIESEL column. We run one time but only heptane peak showed up.
i really appreciate if anyone can help me out.

I am unfamiliar with this analysis but I found this in a quick google search:

Does this help you at all or do you need even more details?

There is a sigma aldrich standards kit found here http://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/pro ... &region=US
Which includes everything you need to make the 5 level calibration curve, as well as internal standards.
You can also buy the MSTFA from sigma as well.

I used to use phenomenex zb-5ht? as column of choice with a 5m guard column.

You can also use the sigma aldrich monoglyceride mix which contains monopalmitin, olein, and stearin to ID the three mono peaks.

Also remember the heptane amount is much larger than sample so you may have to scale your y axis correctly to see the sample peaks.
