I have occasionally the message above and it stops my sequence. I read that the multiplexor on the mainboard might be dead. Is there a way to repair this without swapping the motherboard?

Another question while at it, my 5973N has no display -- it is just black. The MS runs fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi,

Technically is possible to repair the motherboard. I have seen it done in my country. Try Scientific Instruments Service.

About the display, check the flat cable that goes from the display to the electronics box. You can reverse it. In that way different wires do different functions and may be you realize it is faulty. This is specially useful with the wide flat cable that goes to the side board from the electronics box.

Good luck!
