Welcome the the forum.

It is impossible to answer your question if you do not tell us what conditions you are using for the analysis.

TQVM..The retention time that i got for 10^6 ng/L is about 7.978 and the peak area is about 2095457..Is it ok? or is it true?
The GC/MS conditions were as follows: 50°C for 1 min, 15°C/min to 250°C, final temperature hold for 5 min; Rxi-5MS column, 30 m x 0.25 mm x 0.25 µm (Restek, Japan); vaporizing chamber temperature 230°C; interface temperature 230°C; and ion source temperature 200°C.

That retention time seems reasonable for those conditions.

Do you think that the peak is something not geosmin ?

If the spectrum of the peak matches geosmin, then it is geosmin and you know the retention.

Double the concentration of geosmine solution and check whether the consecutive peak is what you expected.

Seems that Tomasz wasn't right with his estimation :D :D :D
