Hi,

I am wondering if someone could enlighten me on if there would be a difference in results in using the

1079 Programmable Temperature Vaporizing
(PTV)
of the 1177 Split/Splitless injector (S/SL) injection port on a Varian 450-GC (with 220MS).

I am testing Volatile Fatty Acids and considering changing as i'm adding another column to the system.

Greatly appreciate any feedback,
GC newbie,

Conall

No, it depends, yes !

If you are asking whether the same sample injected to each of the inlets will give the same peak areas the answer is no.

If you are asking whether one will work better than the other (lower LOD, better rsd or whatever) it depends on what you are analysing and how.

If you are asking whether the results will be the same if you develop and validate a method for each inlet, then the answer is yes.
