Agilent 1200 goes to Error Condition: Shutdown

The Agilent 1200 goes to an error message after 5-10 minutes of run time. All components turn red, and the message reads "Error Condition: Shutdown". I can clear this error and restart the sequence, but it happens again without fail.

Here's a few pieces of information about my situation:

1. I recently removed a component (FLD detector), since we did not need it.
2. This method is brand new, and there are no shutdown macros installed.
3. The PDA detector does not currently have a "reference wavelength" associated with it. This is not necessary, is it?

Thank you all very much for any advice you can give...

Hello

The possible reason is leak. If you're sure that there is no leak in pump and sampler check carefully column compartment - leak sensor is hidden behind two peltier elements.

It is the most common place for leak (especially if column tubing is not tight enough)

You should be able to tell from the software system diagram or the logbook which component had the error first, and go from there.

(1) Yes, most likely issue is a leak, especially at a column inlet.

(2) Yes, in my opinion the 1050 systems with pushbuttons on the front were much easier for pinpointing issues like this.
kubowicz.tomasz and Consumer Products Guy,

Thank you for your help. It was a backup from my waste line into my detector unit. I identified the location based on the instrument logbook.

Everything seems to be working now. I will try to rearrange my tubing to get better drainage.

I think I've had that happen to me. I think that over the years just about everything has popped up.
