The last time I saw something simillar, I needed a new motherboard. But that was much worse than this.
Will it go after a lengthy bake out? Or need better tune parameters?
Isolated the MS, issue is still present. Maybe even worse now the system had been vented and pumped down again.
FYI Agilent 5975C

I had similar problems with our new 7000MSMS. It could be that the HED has become contaminated. It can be cleaned with a kemwipe and isopropanol. Also you can elevate the temperature and flow H2 through the system for a few days and it may clean it out also.
Is this with the Triple Axes Detector?

Sometimes this can occur when the EMV is set too high. Perhaps the tune wizerd is set to a high 69 abundance?

Hi CRL,
There was a thread on this problem sometime ago. In my case it was caused by dirt in the area were the ion beam turns 90 degrees to impact in the detector. I vented the instrument, blew the zone with helium and the problem disappeared. Although I had eventually to change the multiplier.
Hope it helps. good luck
