Compare micro-ECD with older puged anode ECD

Can someone tell me how the 6890 micro-ECD compares to the 5890 purged anode ECD. For example, in pesticide analysis, is the 6890 micro-ECD way more sensitive than the purged anode ECD from a 5890? I know the purged anode is more sensitive than the oldest version (un-purged) but what about the next generations.

Best regards,

AICMM

AICMM, Surprised there are no responses. Been eagerly watching this post. I cannot comment on pesticides. We use a 6890 anode purged ECD for atmospheric nitrous oxide measurements. Some colleagues elsewhere have the 6890 with the micro-ECD and use it for the same purpose. I know for this analysis the micro-ECD is more sensitive.

Best wishes, Nick

MicroECD is more sensitive because it has smaller cell.

I'll let you know. We installed one in July, but so far I am not impressed. I've been told its 10x as sensitive, but my MDLs aren't showing that, and seems to be alot of noise. However, I'm not sure how old the ECDs are as this was bought used, they may need refoiled.
