I am looking for a suitable GC method to check the conversion of TMS-Cl to TMS-CN.
I have analysed TMS-Cl and TMS-CN in DCM by GC with each material giving a separate resolved peak using non polar column, 30m x 0.25mm x 0.52Um).
The Rxn mixture gives only the TMS-Cl peak, which infers rxn has not worked, however by NMR in CDCl3, data suggests 37% TMS-CN present.
Any suggestions welcomed
