I've installed:
Agilent IO Libraries 15.5
ChemStation E.02.02
Agilent PAL driver A.01.06
...with no joy - it worked briefly but now it's about as reliable as a 1960's Skoda.
Am I asking the impossible?

Discussions about GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-FTIR, and other "coupled" analytical techniques.
Have you tried logging into the instrument instead of the domain to rule out the site security policy? I know that firewalls can cause major problems with chemstation if you don't exempt them, and even then it can be quirky.I've read that, but it doesn't appear to be the case.
So far, when running with combination it fails to remember the PAL tray layout (so you have to update it after every sequence). Also, when running SPME, it fails to send the reset command to the PAL, leaving the fibre stuck in the injection port.
I've done multiple reinstallations and the problems persist. At the moment I've gone back to an XP machine with Cycle Composer and the 2.1.3 ChemStation driver and it appears to be working properly.
Any other suggestions as to what I'm not doing (or is it a case of our site security policy getting in the way)?
It looks like support for a 64-bit Windows 7 operating system was not included until the SP1 patch for E.02.02 came out.G1701EA Revision E.02.02
