Hi,
Does anyone use Hydrogen and Nitrogen generators from Peak scientific? If yes, would you recommend it? If not, do you have a brand that you would recommend?
Thanks,
IR

Whatever brand you use, I would strongly recommend checking the costs of service contracts and service parts before going ahead. This is especially true of nitrogen generators with built-in compressors. Some manufacturers offer quite cheap instruments, but service costs are higher; others offer more expensive initial costs, but service is cheap. If you intend to use your instrument for 5-10 years, work out the cost over 5-10 years if you can, and check that you're not getting a bad deal in the long-run.

Peak are a well established and reliable supplier of gas generators. Generators are usually reliable however you should certainly consider local support etc. and the cost of service contracts. We at CE Instruments supply (UK only) another system that is less expensive both to buy and keep running. It's not from a big name supplier but we have started offering our own 3 year warranty as we have found them very reliable

... may I add a qualification to the idea that gas generators are reliable?
Gas generators that run on external compressed air require virtually no maintenance. Gas generators that run on their own compressors require replacement or servicing of those compressors every year, without which they are absolutely guaranteed to fail. They're reliable if serviced.
