hi,

currently we want to analyse trimethylamine (TMA) in fish together with other biogenic amines (histamine, cadaverine,...).

i think the best way to analyse them all together would be:

- a pre-column derivatization
- chromatographic analysis with HPLC/UV

the biogenic amines can be derivatised in a large number of ways.

but how do i get TMA in a HPLC/UV suitable form?

grtz
If you use cation chromatography with non-suppressed conductivity detection no derivatization is required.

hi,

i had seen the article already, but currently, we don't have the hardware to perform cation exchange chromatography.

therefore we wanted to develop a HPLC method...
