hi all

i am looking for a method for detection of residual amounts of Tetrabutylammonium (TBA) in our product.
We used TBA hydroxide as an ion-pair reagent for purification of our crude API and want to know the residual amounts of TBA left in the product. I couldnt find any articles about detection of TBA.
Can anyone help?

thanks

Here is our method for analysis of TBA:

You have two main issues - severe tailing on regular RP columns and detection technique. You need to use ESLD, CAD or LC/MS. With first two you might have an issue with LOD/LOQ

no GC, TBA is non-volatile
