I have a couple of new HPLC and there is no custom fields at all in the system. We will be trained soon but I need to start running and need create custom fields for: Average Area STD1, Std Check, %impurities by area and anything else you guys can think of that would get me running. I am not familiar with Empower custom field creation and would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you
Actually, you do not need custom fields for items in your list.
You need to learn how to add and delete items from some of the basic tables in the report method editor. Right clicking on a particular column will allow you to add summary statistics for it and using the order by tab to add filters will allow you to dedicate tables to particular samples by type, name or label.

If you can find someone with experience who can show you the basics, that is best - otherwise, try to get your hands on the training materials ahead of time. There's also very good documentation of how many things work in the help files, but searching for particulars can be a bit cumbersome.
Thanks,
DR
