Agilent 1956B Firmware

Hello,
I've got a small problem with an MSD 1956B SL.
Our "old" MSD (1956A) died this week and as long as it takes to repair it I want to use a second MSD.
I configured all right as I can see. When I start the Chemstation (B.01.03) I got an Info, that the Firmware-Version of 3.01.89 is a little bit old, and I should update the MS Interface with the version 3.01.99.
But when I try to update the Firmware via LAN the updater tells me, that there is no connection to the IP adress I gave him. But I can ping the MSD. The Chemstation also "sees" the MSD and after the Message it looks like I could just use it. The Chemstation says, the MSD is ready to use.
The Agilent technician states, that the settings should be right (via phone), but he never had such an issue.
Even if I could use the system now like it is - it would be much more pleasant when I could update the Firmware.
Does anyone have any idea?
