Substitute for Beckman Amino Acid columns? [April 29, 2004]

With Beckman getting out of selling dedicated amino acid analyzers, we have had to try other vendors. We found a decent system in Knauer, but their columns don't produce as high a quality of chromatogram. In addition, Knauer has made their hardware such that only their physical column will fit. Anyone have a suggestion where I can source Beckman's resin to put inside a custom tube?

My instrument supplier tried that without luck. Apparently this is a very specialized resin. He also tells me only two manufacturers (globally?) make this kind of resin, but unfortunately he has not passsed along the specifics...
