hp 1090 series II

I am trying to revive a hp 1090 series II which was last used in 1998. I want to operate in local mode; however, the message "key inhibited in remote mode" is displayed each time I do press anything. How should I proceed?

I already tried the the procedure described in the manual, which says to press press "escape" when the message " method data ok" appears.

Sadly I do not have an answer, only the same problem. Have you come across a solution offline?

Have you tried contacting Agilent tech support?
