Empower label (custom field) average + RSD

Our sample sets are as follows (simplified example):

Standards (5x)
Control
Batch 1 - Box 5 - Preparation 1
Batch 1 - Box 5 - Preparation 2
Batch 1 - Box 21 - Preparation 1
Batch 1 - Box 21 - Preparation 2
Batch 1 - Box 63 - Preparation 1
Batch 1 - Box 63 - Preparation 2
Control
Batch 2 ... etc...

I would like Empower to calculate the average of each Box and the RSD of that duplicate preparation. And the average of the complete batch.

So that i can get a report table like this:




How can I get this done in Empower (with custom fields?)

I have added a custom field for "Box", is it possible that I make a custom field that calculates the average per box (and exclusively for that batch since box 5, 35 and 70 can also occur in other batches)? And if so, how?

I am sure this can be done via intersample custom field. I know its suppored under empower 2 and higher. What version of empower are you using?

It can be done easily if not as cleanly with reports. Create a summary by all report, then add the amount component summary table twice.

Group the first by all which will give you your total statistics, then group the second table by box which will give you stats per box.

This report would generate automatically at the end of each batch if you set it in your sample sets and cant pull data from other batches. See the report i created quickly here. I am using a field I have called column serial number instead of box and I have multiple components, but it would work.

This could be much better formatted and pretty, but quick and dirty it shows what you need and it can be automated or on demand.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for!

I've made a report where I order by batch in the first table, and by box in the second table. Then I've grouped those two with a page break and selected order by batch for that group.

Now I've got a report with the complete batch result and the result per box on a seperate page for each batch..
