Does anyone know the column chemistry of the Dionex Surfactant column. I was interested after seeing the post for the separation of toluenesulfonic acid.
I have problems separating various percarboxlyated aromatic carboxylic acids and am looking for better columns to use in a Mass spec friendly mode.
thanks.

Dionex Acclaim Surfactant column is a mixed-mode phase (RP/ion-exchange/hydrogen bond) by nature.
The main features include:
1. Separation of anionic, nonionic, cationic, and amphoteric surfactants on a single column, using a simple and MS friendily mobile phase, and within the same chromatographic run.
2. Excellent peak shapes for all types of surfactants, especially for cationic ones which exhibit bad tailing on silica based RP columns.
3. Ideal tool for analyzing highly hydrophilic anionic compounds, such as hydrotropes (toluene sulfonate, naphthalene sulfonate, m-xylene sulfonate).
In terms of the compounds you are interested in, I think Acclaim Surfactant column might work. Please let me know if you need additional information.
