Degasser Insides

I am writing with reference to my post from last year.

I have now open up my 1100 Degasser which spits our solvent a few minutes after starting up.
"scottythree" had posted great insights into how to repair the degasser. Unfortunately I have not succeed so far.
I opened up my degasser and found that one of the lines was torn and had some crystals on it. So I have cut up the connecting part and re-connected the line which loops from one side of the vacuum pump to the other.
Now coming to the plastic-vacuum chambers. There are four chambers, with 2 each connected in series via a single black colored vacuum tube running to the solenoid valve.
I opened up one of these assemblies with 2 vacuum chambers and found that the internals were wet. I opened up the plastic chambers and took apart all the plastic parts. The white colored plastic filter inside each of these Vacuum chambers appeared to have solvent that has passed through to the vacuum side. Now this could really explain, why the vacuum pump spits out solvent.
Because it passes across the filter into the vacuum pipes and then into the pump.
The thin black colored plastic flaps on the pump were definitely wet on one of the sides.
Now my question is:
Question 1: Does some one know how to confirm if the solenoid valve is working ?
Question 2: Usually it should not be possible for solvent to flow out of the filter into the vacuum pipes. Does this confirm that the vacuum chambers need to be replaced.
Could there be another explanation to this ?
