AKTA UPC 900 "error 57" message

Dear All,
We have an old but otherwise functioning AKTA FPLC, but the UPC 900 (model no. 18-1128-95) unit is giving an error message, "Error 57". The manual is of little help as it just tells us to contact service, but I am loathe to do this due to the usually very high service costs and age of the machine (it is over 15 yrs old) and we currently have very limited budgets to fix lab equipment!
Has anyone had this message and been able to fix it?

Hi

In general this means you have some kind of board fault. You may be able to get a refurbished board from GE or contact one of the few 3rd party companies which offer repairs, my company included.
