Chemstation Excel Export Question!

Hi Guys,

I'm attempting to figure out an easy way to export Chemstation (B.02.01) results into an Excel spreadsheet for parsing via an electronic system. We only need filename, Retention Times, Area, and Peak Width at half-height, but with little experience with Chemstation and even less experience with macros, I'm a bit lost. I'm not sure if a macro is necessary or if Chemstation already has this capability, but if anyone has any experience with this or could point me in the right direction, I'd be very grateful!

So ChemStation doesn't necessarily make this easy. The only way I've been able to export to Excel is to print a Batch Report to Excel. This will give you whatever is in your Batch Report, including sample ID, peak areas, retention time, calculated results, etc. I no longer have access to a copy of ChemStation so I'm going off memory, but I believe it is a check box in the Batch Report Options menu. The other way is as you mentioned, to use a macro. Alternatively, I believe that Agilent sells a program that will handle this for you; you would need to give the Agilent sales or tech support a call for this. Hope this helps a little. You would think that this is a pretty basic thing that they would build into the software.

Same problem here but batch report does not work for me because I am only running unknowns and other ideas?

You could use my ExcelDDE.Mac macro file, which uses post run dynamic data exchange to send selected fields (Header and peak results fields) to Excel.

I would need an email address to send the zip file, unless there is a way to attach files on the forum.

Do you have a list of your wanted peaks with the retention times and names?
There is a quite easy way to get the compounds + information into an Excel file..
Not sure about the peak width tho..

I'm currently figuring out if you can use the same method only then with unknown peaks...
