HPLC Configuration

Hi all,
We have recently started using Knauer HPLC system.
configuration
1)two s1000 pumps
2)smartline Manager 5000
3)dynamic mixer
4)auto sampler
5)oven
6)uv-detector
7)refractive index detector
8)chromgate software
The engineer has configured the machine by assigning one pump as HPG-A
and the second pump as HPG-B.
Now when we start the run with a 50%A:50%B mobile phase, the LPG-A LED on the manager glows and LPG-B LED does not glow.

and the engineer is not very sure if both should glow or not

we ran 100%B, but still LPG-A only glows and LPG-B doesnot

I am wondering if that is OK or the not.

Pls advise

PS:Pls upload your installed HPLC photographs, such that new people can understand and check if their systems are properly installed or not .. especially with the pump doors open ..... these can never be found in text books ..right : :?:

with best wishes

If this system is newly installed, and the engineer in question works for the vendor, then he/she should know or be able to find out. If not, that is a question best addressed to Knauer.

Re the photographs, do a Google image search. You will find many photos of the interiors of oump compartments, albeit mostly for "Thermatergilenzu" systems.
