Needle Home Z error code

We are using a Shimadzu Nexera X2 SIL-30AC MP autosampler and yesterday a tray got placed improperly causing a misinjection.
Ever since then we have a 'SIL ERR NDLE HOME Z' error so we know it is not properly resetting to it's home Z position on power up.
We have been able to clear the error..but then it still does not reset to home position and when we try to start a run the error occurs again.

We have replaced the syringe, tried full reboots, power downs, and even unplugging the instruments (controller, pumps, and autosampler) before powering back up.
We get full network reconnectivity with its controller and computer (which also got power cycled).

You can hear a grinding sound when it tries to reset to home but doesn't move. When moving by hand though it moves freely.

Anyone have any idea where we can proceed from here?

::Update:: This morning I have gone in while it is turned off and manually turned the belt drive cog to lower the syringe almost all the way to the bottom. Now when it turns on and tries to home it raises the syringe back up but does not grind anymore. But it still errors with Needle Home Z right after it finishes raising the syringe.

Call a rep - they should be able to walk you through "re-training" the thing as to where Z-home is, and you'll probably need to reset the needle height as well.

Neither procedure is very complicated (on older SSI autosamplers) but it has been forever since I did one and never on a Nexera series.

thanks, but sadly every time we try to enter new coordinates ofr the syringe it flashes a "not teached" error.

but today a Shimadzu tech came in....when the injector misinjected it bent a plat at the top of the assembly that apparently passes either a lightgate or a laser to use as the sensor for height.

so now, if anyone else has a misinject that causes a needle home z error, check VERY closely the top of the injector assembly (after removing the cover plate/shroud) and look for a vertical plate along the back and check its alignment.
