Varian Workstation - How to delete old calibration files?

Hi all,

The maximum number of calibration sets allowed by Varian workstation per method is 10. However, one of our methods has gone through various changes in the levels required for our analytes and we are now faced with calibrating the method for the 11th time.

I've tried deleting the old calibration files from my computer and also changing them from a 'calibration' file to an 'analysis' file in the hope that the software will leave them out of future calibration calculations. I've also tried saving the method under a different name, but the calibration curves transfer over. I'm looking to not restart the method from scratch!

Cheers
Aaron

Just a guess; create a new method, then copy the instrument parameters into it from the old method. Although typing in half a dozen lines of times and temperatures does not seem like so much of a hassle that it would be worth posting on the internet about it, so maybe I do not understand the problem. How much information is there in the method ?

The GC parameters wouldn't be a problem to copy over, but I'm trying to avoid restarting all the MS acquisition settings, compound tables and internal standard calculations if possible.

Can't you save the method under a different name using the Save As, then everything should be copied across?

Create, copy, paste should be worth a try then.

Yes this works - except it takes all the old unwanted calibration data with it, which I'm trying to get rid of.

In sample list choose "new calibration block"

Thanks WillyOne, that did the trick!
